Today the International Go Federation announced an anti-doping policy to be used in international competitions. Despite Go is defined as “a low risk sport”, they will check your blood or urine. So, time to discover if green tea is on the Anti-Doping Agency’s drug list.
Anyway, I suspect that some university tournaments might be cancelled if this new policy was applied there.
Hehe… ask for “mate” as well…
A few years ago (about… 10…) while I was an amateur chess player, a similar policy was stablished by the spanish chess federation… And caffeine was on the “ban list”, for concentrations up to X mg/liter. I don’t remember the numbers, but green coffee also has caffeine… but not as much as black coffee (or black coffee candies as I eat while I played chess 8-).
